The Professor Józef Nedoma Scholarship
On Wednesday, 23 June 2010, during the official celebration of the end of the school year at Nowodworski High School in Krakow, which took place in the Cracow Philharmonic, the scholarship founded by the Nedoma family, the owners of the LIDO-LANG Technical Translations company, was awarded for the third time already.
This year, the prize was awarded to Jakub Stawiski, a student of class III B, as the winner of the national Latin language school contest and national English language school contest as well as the prize-winner of the Krakow City Scholarship 2010.
The scholarship, together with a special diploma, was awarded by the initiator of the prize - Jerzy Nedoma, LIDO-LANG CEO. In his speech, Jerzy Nedoma – apart from congratulating this year’s laureate – encouraged younger students to apply for the scholarship in the following years. The celebration was also attended by the scholarship holder’s parents, school authorities, the Krakow Chief Education Officer (Mr. Aleksander Palczewski), and the entire school community.
Professor Józef Nedoma’s Scholarship was founded to commemorate the 420th anniversary of Nowodworski High School, as well as the 70th anniversary of Professor Józef Nedoma’s (spiritual patron of LIDO-LANG Technical Translations) graduation, the 40th anniversary of Jerzy Nedoma’s graduation, and the 10th anniversary of Andrzej Nedoma’s graduation from Nowodworski High School (i.e. of the present people in charge of the company). The aim of the scholarship is, among other things, to provide financial help to exceptionally gifted and talented graduates of Nowodworski High School and to promote the life stance of Professor Józef Nedoma, which combines love of science with passion for foreign languages.
